No doubt everyone has heard of the vanishing coin trick.Here is a very simple and effective version that anyone can perform well with just a little practice.An extra person will be required in this trick but keep it a secret.

For the trick to begin:

For this trick you will need two identical coins, a very clever secret assistant, a handkerchief and a shirt with a front pocket.For this to work you will have to already have had placed a coin into you or your partners pocket.Take a coin from your shirt and make the audience look at it, pretend you chose it randomly.Take the handkerchief and cover your hand and the coin.To do it with flair you will need to practice it.That is when you proclaim, "An assistant please.The coin should still be in my hand could you please reach under the handkerchief to make sure of this."You can point to someone in the audience other than your secret partner.Then you can go to your partner and select them to check for the coin or you can choose someone else before choosing your partner.

When your secret partner checks for the coin, they actually pretend to just touch the coin to verify it is still there but instead they secretly take the coin, hiding it from the audience.Your partner needs to be very smooth about how they take the coin so no one will suspect they have actually taken the coin.

The coin has now magically disappeared and you can ramble off some magical phrases pulling the handkerchief away to reveal nothing.You can proclaim, "Wait a minute, where is the coin?"You can either reach into your pocket pulling out the coin or you can pretend you are searching around for the coin.Explain that you need help to find the coin so the others will give you a hand.The coin magically is here, your secret friend has taken it from their pocket.Also you have the option of looking into your friend's pocket and getting it yourself, "Here it is."

The second version of the same trick:

Before this version of the disappearing coin trick is performed some preparation is needed.Get a playing card and stick the coin on back of it at the bottom with some glue.Make it look like the coin is not stuck on the card when you present it by pretending to balance it.Keep your other hand under the card as if you were waiting to catch the coin when it slips off the card.

Pretend you now have the coin by slipping the card upside down into your other hand.Close your hand as if you were holding the coin and while you do this slip the card into your pocket making sure no one sees that the coin is still attached to the card.

You now supposedly have the coin in your hand so you can say some magic words and wave your other hand over it opening it to reveal the coin is gone.There is no coin in your hand it looks like it has gone.
