Magic Card Tricks:The Mind Reading Card Trick That Even A Child Can Perform
"Forcing a card" is the name of a famous magic card trick and what we have done is made a version of this trick. It is a favourite of magicians probably because it is so amazing to witness yet so easy to perform. This trick is so simple a child can do it and be very convincing.
Tools:
You will need to have any sized deck of cards and nothing else.
For starters:
For starters choose a single card and that will be the one you want your audience to choose. You are the one that chose the card despite the fact that they think they have made the decision. Remembering what card you have picked is very important. The hardest thing about this trick is recalling the card you chose. Actually, remembering the card that you choose beforehand is the only hard part of the trick. Place your chosen card on the top of the deck.
Begin with this step:
Sit down with your audience and ask one person to choose a number between the numbers five and ten. It wont matter what their number of choice was. It could be, eight, five, nine, ten, seven or six. Be sure the cards are facing down. After hearing their choice you reply "Now I need you to count to ten by using these cards. This is how to do it." After you tell them this you take the deck of cards and deal them into a pile beginning your count with the number they chose. If they said six then you must take the top card from the deck and keeping it face down put in on the table and say six. Now the remainder of the cards will be dealt out while you count them continuing from the first card for instance, "eight, nine and ten." The card you chose as your ëforced card' is the one that you had placed on the top of the deck and it is now the first card in the pile on the table.
Now you pick up the stack of cards you counted out and put them back on the top of your deck of cards keeping them face down. Hand the cards to your audience person and ask them to go ahead and count to ten like you just did. Tell them to lay out each card while they count. Then tell them that the tenth card is theirs and they should take it but don't show you the card. Ask them to show it to their friends but don't let you see it.
The Big Finale:
Now you tell them that you will concentrate on their card and that you will tell them what card they are holding. You pretend to be concentrating on trying to predict the card and then you say, "It is a Ö" The card is the one you decided would be your ëforced card' and is the one that you originally placed on the top of the deck. If the Ace of Spades was your chosen card then you would insist, "You are holding in your hands the Ace of Spades my friend." Of course, this is exactly the card they have in their hand. They will never know you chose the card and convinced them to choose the same one. They will be amazed.
