Pencil Drawings & Sketches/4 Important Steps
To become a good pencil drawing artist takes more time than most artists are ready to give when they first start drawing. It not only takes time and patience, but you need to be inspired to practice. If you follow these four steps, your skill level will show amazing results. Your work will start to be recognised and the demand for your drawing, or drawings, will increase.
The first step to remember in any good pencil drawing is that it'll take time. When you start a drawing permit sufficient time to complete the project without rushing, particularly at the end. When you let yourself become absorbed with the drawing, time won't become a factor and this will show in the final analysis results.
Step two is taken when you start your drawing. Pick a subject that's not too tricky or so frustrating that you're feeling you won't finish. Ensure the subject is one you can draw with your starter drawing set and not a subject you are going to need different pencils and paper to finish.
Step 3 is to always focus on your subject and not on your drawing. If you are continually taking a look at your drawing, you'll lose the image of your subject in your mind and you will not be please with your finished drawing.
Step 4 is that as your art capabilities get better, you'll need different pencils. You want to learn different shading and toning techniques with softer and harder lead pencils. This will need practice using these different leads and how to make different hand strokes.
The most vital lesson to learn is to trust yourself and your abilities. To become a great artist needs many hours of practice, focus, and commitment. If you commit yourself to these 3 things you will be really happy with the professional look of your completed drawing.
