The Fishman Loudbox Mini 60 Watt Acoustic Amplifier
September 2010 brings the latest in acoustic amplification from Fishman Transducers, the Loudbox Mini. Fishman has built an industry around exceptional products for acoustic instruments. The latest in the Fishman portable amplifier line up is the 2 channel Loudbox Min. This is the smallest in the Loudbox line at 12 inches tall, less than 14 inches wide and slightly under 10 inches deep. The 20 pound Mini uses a 6-1/2 inch woofer and a 1 inch tweeter to handle the 60 watt blast of clean sonic power. There is a built in 10 degree angle for greater sonic dispersion on the professional looking brown box.
The legendary clean, balanced, transparent Fishman sound is made manifest through 2 channels. There are separate control panels on the front for the microphone and the instrument inputs. The instrument panel includes the standard ¼ inch input. The little switch next to the input is a phase switch which can boost the bass or suppress feedback according to the manual. The gain, low, mid, and high and low controls are next to the phase switch. The latter three are cut or boost pots. That is to say that when set to 12 o’clock they are off. Left is less, right is more. Easy to use. The next 2 knobs are reverb and chorus. You can use 2 presets and control them with the chorus knob. Moving to the microphone channel we find XLR input and controls for gain, low, high, reverb, and master. The little light next to the master knob of course is power on.
There is another ¼ inch jack and a CD or MP3 input on the back side of the amp. You can send a signal to the board or a slave amp with the Mix DI output on the rear panel. All in all the Fishman Loudbox Mini is an affordable compact acoustic sound system from a company that has kept its focus on just one thing. Amplified sound from heaven.
